Official: Russia raises ‘18 wheat harvest forecast to 69 mln tns

MOSCOW, Oct 10 (PRIME) -- The Russian Agriculture Ministry has raised the forecast for wheat harvest to 68–69 million tonnes in 2018 in gross weight from 64.4 million tonnes, Pyotr Chekmaryov, head of the plant farming department, told reporters on Wednesday.

“(The wheat harvest will be) about 68–69 million tonnes,” Chekmaryov said.

The ministry’s total grain harvest forecast stands at 106 million tonnes.
